CITB ONLINE SEATS Site Environmental Awareness Course (Remote Learning)

Overview

This CITB Site Environmental Awareness SEATS 1 day virtual course will be delivered remotely, using instructor-led online learning. The course content remains the same as classroom-based CITB training, however, you’ll attend a scheduled, interactive class via Zoom video conferencing. For this, you will need access to a laptop or desktop computer with a webcam, microphone and speaker (sorry, no tablets).

The course will provide candidates with an introduction to environmental issues on construction sites. It's designed to meet the basic environmental knowledge that the sub-contract chain are required to prove to major contractors, and covers the environmental aspects of the new touch screen Health, safety and environment test.

Delegates under the age of 18 must provide written consent from a parent or guardian to successfully attend.

*  PLEASE NOTE - It will take approximately 2-3 weeks for the CITB to issue an E-Cert  *

Objectives

Candidates who successfully complete the SEATS course will be able to:-

• Understand the Environmental impacts of construction processes
• Understand the relevant legislation and how to regulate it
• Understand How to achieve compliance
• Understand best practice techniques to use on site

This CITB ONLINE Site Environmental Awareness course will cover the following topics: -

• Why is the environment important
• Environmental Management Systems
• Ecology
• Contaminated land
• Waste Management
• Pollution and Water Management
• Being a good neighbor
• Energy and Resources
• Being a responsible contractor

Assessment

At the conclusion of the virtual training course, delegates are required to undertake a short multiple choice assessment of 25 questions.

The exam will be scheduled at a convenient time and is conducted via a 1-2-1 Zoom video call with your tutor.  No secondary devices (i.e. mobile phones) are allowed during the exam.

Who Should Attend?

This one day virtual course is intended for those who have management responsibilities on a construction site and therefore targets site supervisors, site managers, assistant site managers, site agents and site foremen.

Prerequisites

A good understanding of spoken and written English will be necessary in order to attend and complete the course successfully.
